Intra-abdominal donors for vascularized lymph node transfer: an update and review

چکیده
Lymphedema continues to be a very challenging clinical problem. While compression and physical therapy remain the foundation of treatment, recent advances in microsurgery super-microsurgery have allowed for development promising surgical options. One these options is vascularized lymph node transfer (VLNT), which has gained significant popularity over years. However, there no consensus on ideal donor basin VLNT. In addition, most commonly reported sites, including groin, supraclavicular, submental, lateral thoracic nodes, carry risk iatrogenic lymphedema and/or visible scarring. order avoid risks, use intra-abdominal sites VLNT been pursued. This article reviews techniques outcomes each

Vascularized Free Lymph Node Flap Transfer in Advanced Lymphedema Patient after Axillary Lymph Node Dissection.
Lymphedema is a condition characterized by tissue swelling caused by localized fluid retention. Advanced lymphedema is characterized by irreversible skin fibrosis (stage IIIb) and nonpitting edema, with leather-like skin, skin crypts, and ulcers with or without involvement of the toes (stage IVa and IVb, respectively). Recently, surgical treatment of advanced lymphedema has been a challenging r...
متن کاملPreplanning Vascularized Lymph Node Transfer with Duplex Ultrasonography: An Evaluation of 3 Donor Sites
BACKGROUND As experience with vascularized lymph node (VLN) transfer has grown, new VLN sources have become apparent. Descriptive studies have elucidated variable lymph node presence in these donor basins. Yet, no study has evaluated preoperative imaging evaluation between donor sites in patients undergoing VLN transfer. This study was to compare the findings on duplex ultrasonography of the su...
متن کاملThe use of magnetic resonance angiography in vascularized groin lymph node transfer: an anatomic study.
Vascularized groin lymph node transfer (VGLNT) has been successfully used to treat lymphedema. However, lack of familiarity with the inguinal node anatomy and concerns regarding donor site morbidity have limited its widespread use. The purpose of this study was to use magnetic resonance angiography (MRA) to clarify the inguinal anatomy and provide a reliable method for identifying the location ...
متن کاملVascularized Lymph Node Flap Transfer and Lymphovenous Anastomosis for Klippel-Trenaunay Syndrome with Congenital Lymphedema
SUMMARY A female patient with Klippel-Trenaunay syndrome, including hypertrophic bone and soft tissue in the forelimbs, bilateral lower limbs lymphedema, port-wine stains, and superficial veins of Servelle, was presented. The diagnosis of lymphedema was confirmed by lymphoscintigraphy and indocyanine green lymphography. The novel treatments consisted of vascularized lymph node transplantation t...
متن کاملComprehensive review of vascularized lymph node transfers for lymphedema: Outcomes and complications.
INTRODUCTION Lymphedema remains a challenging clinical problem. A new field of lymphatic surgery using micro and super microsurgery techniques is a rapidly advancing field aimed to treat recalcitrant cases. The objective of this study was to evaluate outcomes and complications of vascularized lymph node transfer (VLNT). Several early preliminary studies have reported promising outcomes, but the...
